I am committed to helping people live their lives fully while embracing both the joys and the challenges that present themselves. My style is collaborative and based on the belief that a trusting relationship is the foundation for therapeutic growth and change. My approach is holistic and integrative; I include elements of DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), mindfulness, attachment parenting, cognitive, family systems and humanistic theories with treatment that is tailored to meet a client’s individual needs. As a clinical art therapist, I help individuals find their inspiration and purpose embedded within the meaningful metaphors of their lives.
I have additional training in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which is an evidence-based practice and a highly effective way to treat many issues including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, panic, depression, and attachment issues. It can also be used to improve relaxation and mindfulness skills.
Often we get stuck in old habits that were developed earlier in life. We might hold onto old messages about our self-worth, competence, needs and value. EMDR allows us to rewrite this script and undo these old habits making space for new habits to emerge. It’s a remarkable and powerful tool that helps people to be freed up from the past to enjoy a more fulfilling life.
